Obtain Caste Certificate : Punjab
Department Concerned SDM Office/ Tehsil office (Revenue Department). Eligibility Conditions Permanent residents of the State for at least five years. Step by Step Procedure i. The application form is available from the Concerned Office or can be downloaded from the website. ii. The completely filled application must be verified by the Sarpanch/Nambardar/M.C before submitting in the concerned Office with a court fee of Rs. 1.25, along with an affidavit stating his residential address, declaring that such a certificate has not been obtained before. iii. The SDM will send this application for verification of the particulars of the applicant, to the concerned Tehsildar.iv. The Tehsildar in turn will forward his/her application to the concerned Revenue Patwari for verification of the particulars of the applicant.v. The Patwari records the statements of the applicant and the Nambardar on the spot, and returns the application with his report to the Tehsildar.vi. The Tehsildar returns the case back to the respective SDM with his Comments/Report.
vii. Finally, the SDM issues the Certificate to the applicant after completion of the official formalities.

Verification Procedure The Certificate is issued after the verification is done by the Revenue Staff through the Patwari. Prescribed Time Schedule The Certificate is issued within seven days.
