Obtain Caste Certificate : Puducherry

Eligibility

Any Citizen covered under the OBC, MBC, SC, ST communities can avail the service.

Concerned Authority

The Concerned Taluk (tehsil) office will issue the certificate.

Necessary Documents

The citizen has to submit an application in plain paper and the following supporting documents: 

• EPIC card
• Ration card
• Caste certificate of family members etc.,

Fees

• A nominal fee of Rs 1 is charged for stamp
  There is no specific form devised for this service and the citizen has to approach the taluk office in person to avail this service.

Other Information

Normal caste certificates have only limited validity for 6 months to 1 year. In Pondicherry, the Govt has introduced the “Permanent Caste Certificate” which has legal validity for 15 years for educational and employment purposes.
